Hi dears- I heard you were visiting Peru. Bernie and I are going there in November with some friends (one of which is from Peru). Let me know:
which train you took to Machu Picchu- looks like there are 2- one is more expensive but supposedly has a better view.....
what hotel did you stay in in Cuzco? would you recommend?
anything else that should be a "not to miss" sight????????
love ya,
Aunt Judy

well... ... we didn't make it down there. We decided to spend an extra week at home before we move out east instead.
we were going through machupichutours.com and were going to opt for the nicer train. It looks well worth it.
Also, the hostel (not the same as a European hostel; read: "cheap") that's in Cusco by the market looked like the best deal. They offered us $35 per night.
The "Lonely Planet" tour book had all sorts of good ideas in it, too. You might want to pick that up as well.
Hopefully that'll help.
okay, then I'll let you guys know how the trip was once we go.... I heard you didn't want to ride the donkeys (you're no fun). I'm thinking it would be fine, if for no other reason than your Uncle Bernie would look pretty ridiculous on a donkey, as would my friend Steve. If I'm successful, I'll post a picture to prove it. We found air tickets for $387 each- pretty good deal...
That's a great deal! The donkeys take two days, and if you look out your window, gazing longingly at the world around you... Melissa and I are allergic to everything you see - so the donkeys weren't a good idea.
